Server Upgrade

There will be some work going on in the background this week to upgrade the SCWN server to PHP 5.2.6 from PHP 4.4.4.
As a result there maybe some small issues with one or two pages until page coding is altered for the new scripting.

Website is now IE8 compatible

The mesomap on the Scottish Weather Network website has been upgraded to make it compatible with Internet Explorer 8. There was an issue with the data not scrolling when viewed in IE8 but this has now been fixed.

New Station (Woodside of Marywell)

Our latest station is hosted by Ken from Woodside of Marywell, near Aboyne. Ken has been around the network for a while and it's nice to see his weather site up & running with Cumulus Software.

East Kilbride Updated

Gavin, at the East Kilbride station, has updated his URL and now has Nexstorm Lighting data on his website. So there's a new link & icon for his station.

Isle of Skye Weather now has a webcam installed.
The SCWN map & Station details have now been updated so members will need to run an update for the PHP files.

The Scottish Weather Network is pleased to announce that we can now support the Cumulus Software for updating your weather data to our network of personal weather stations. Providing that you are using the realtime.txt file then just fill in the Join form on the website and we will do the rest.

New RSS Feeds

The Scottish Weather Network now has an RSS feed for all the site updates and news. It will be used to announce changes to the files when new members join or members change their details. New items added to the main website will also be announced on the RSS feed, as well as the forum.
