Title: Bathgate Weather
Post by: Colin on May 21, 2008, 08:43:27 PM
Hi All

Colin Ure here from Bathgate (www.bathgateweather.co.uk)

Like a few comments so far on this site a bit of fun turned into something more serious - started with a 20 quid M&S indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity sensor. Very quickly realised I wanted much more...

Currently running a OS WMR928/NX and have been since 31st Dec 2006, so almost 17mths now. Added a couple of sensors (backup temp/hum & ground probe) in feb this year and a webcam during march. All through a dedicate server and skyview datalogger - running Weather Display

Look forward to chatting about the weather with more of a scottish slant  ;)

Well done guys for getting this project up and running.

Hi Colin,

Welcome on board.  ;D

If you can have a look in the "Setting Up SWN" section and pass your details then I'll get you added to the map.  ;)

Martin.

Welcome Colin.
I used a WMR928 for a couple of years. Good kit for the price. You're the first person I've come across using the Skyview datalogger.

Welcome Colin.

Really happy with the WMR928 - the wind sensor failed with the first month - which was a pain as it went up on the roof the day before but the replacement has been fine ever since (touch wood). I use the datalogger for power failure backup and I download the resulting data into Excel spreadsheets - works great only issue is the memory is not great. Record every 5mins with max/min will only give me about 5-6 days worth before I need to empty it. For 125 quid I would have expected more storage space.
